| Overall the meet was great, well run, and very enjoyable. One comment, however. At the last minute the entry deadline for the open water swim was extended to 13 October, and even then I understand that swimmers were able to enter on the day of the swim. That should not be allowed. A deadline is a deadline and it is not fair to other swimmers who abide by the rules and deadlines. A similar situation arose in Barbados two years ago when one or more swimmers were allowed to swim their postal event, 1500 meters, the day before the meet started resulting in the change of at least one gold medal. Please be strict about this in the future. | |

LA COMPETENCIA SE LLEVABA A CABO A LA HORA INDICADA EN EL PROGRAMA, LAS PREMIACIONES DE LOS EVENTOS(MEDALLAS)ESTUVIERON COOL! EN FIN ESTOY ORGULLOSA DE HABER PARTICIPADO EN LA COMPETENCIA. | Al equipo de la UCV, le faltaron los diplomas con los reconocimientos de los records y, el trofeo al equipo ganador en aguas abiertas (pre master) que tengo entendido se iba a entregar uno. Lo unico que tendría que sugerir es que la premiación a los mejores nadadores y a los equipos, debe hacerse temprano, aprovechando que todos los atletas esten presente; la manera en que se hizo no estuvo a la altura de un Latycar. La organización estuvo 20 puntos, y una felicitación muy especial para AROMA, quien siempre estuvo dispuesta de manera bien positiva de ayudar y aclarar cualquier duda. Gracias. | |

| It was a great experience participating in the 8th edition of the LATyCAR 2005, and the hospitality was second to none! All the participants were encouraging each other throughout the event, all the volunteers were working feverishly at running the meet from beginning to end, and the desire for all the participants to go out and do their best has set the bar high for future editions of the LATyCAR. To the organizing committee, I offer my sincere thanks for your total dedication to the event. The preparation required for such an event must be gigantic, and your efforts were greatly rewarded with such a fun event occurring over seven days. The fundamentals of master swimming are always displayed when meets such as this one take place: from the high performance competitors to the humbled beginner, all were rewarded with the encouragement from the participants. It would not surprise me to see future LATyCARs become even more popular as the legacy of pictures on the Internet will serve as testament to such a fun event! I always like to think that master swimming encourages fun, friendship and fitness. Based on my personal experience at this 8th edition of the LATyCAR, it will remain a classic for years to come in symbolizing such goals. | |
